Since all known psychoactive cannabinoids that have been on the market since the end of 2023 were banned in Germany at the end of June 2024, it hasn't taken long for new cannabinoids to take over. We have already been able to provide you with a rudimentary overview of 10-OH-HHC.

But what is 10-OH-HHCP all about and can it keep up with the potency of THCP ? In this article, we will make a comparison for you and see if the rumors can keep their promises.

What is 10-OH-HHCP?

We have already described what 10-OH-HHC is in our blog post about 10-OH-HHC. It is very similar here, except for the fact that HHCP is used as the starting material. Otherwise the process is the same.

10-OH-HHCP is created by adding a hydroxy group (-OH) to the tenth carbon atom of the HHCP molecule. This modification changes the properties and effects of the cannabinoid. 10-OH-HHCP shows a strong binding affinity to CB1 receptors and leads to more intense euphoric and relaxing effects than other cannabinoids.

It is present in a yellowish, syrupy, honey-like liquid.

Differences between 10-OH-HHCP and THCP

The differences between 10-OH-HHCP (10-hydroxy-hexahydrocannabiphorol) and THCP (tetrahydrocannabiphorol) can be summarized based on their chemical structure, potency, effects and uses:

Legal status

  • THCP: Due to its structure, THCP has been subject to the fifth regulation of the New Psychoactive Substances Act since June 26, 2024 and may not be manufactured or sold in Germany since then.
  • 10-OH-HHCP: Like many other new cannabinoids, 10-OH-HHCP is in a grey area in Germany. However, it is foreseeable that one day it will be banned like THCP due to the unclear study situation and to protect the health of the population.
